Neuro the not so hero

Originally I was just going to color over the entire black and white photo but at some point I decided to stop and look at it I couldn't get myself to keep going so I switched it up and made it so that the original photo helped to compliment the drawing. This looks like some serious photoshop but I used a much less expensive art program. The person in the photo is Kaylon Paul-Hunt, creator, director and actor in the fim Hero story. This is a belated gift for him which he greatly enjoyed and a bunch of other people I don't even know liked it on facebook. I'm hoping I can replicate this process because I was mostly just experimenting and now I'm wracking my brain with how I did it!
